The venue we work most

We have produced 101 events at Splendor Pond since October 2021, and we currently hold 51 more on the calendar. No other venue on our books is close on the forward number. We know the property.

Thirty-six acres, a seven-acre pond, a two-acre flower garden and four separate ceremony sites means a wedding here is spread out in a way most venues are not. That is a logistics job as much as an audio one, and it is the reason the timeline matters here more than the gear list.

The sound rules, and why they shape the whole night

This is the part couples do not always hear about before they book, and it is the single most important planning fact at Splendor Pond.

  • Music ends at 10:00pm and guests depart by 10:30pm.
  • The venue actively monitors sound levels because of the neighbouring residential property.
  • Outdoor speakers are subject to volume restrictions.

None of that ruins a party. It does mean the night has to be built backwards from 10pm rather than allowed to drift, and it means the answer outdoors is coverage rather than volume: more speakers placed closer to people, aimed at the crowd instead of at the property line. A single loud system pointed across a lawn is exactly what gets a venue complaints, and it sounds worse for your guests anyway.

We have run this room a hundred times. We know what the venue is comfortable with and we build the set so the last hour lands properly instead of being cut off mid-song.

The spaces

Hydrangea Hall

The indoor reception hall, with a large indoor bar. This is where the night ends up, and it is the easiest part of the property to get right.

The covered patio

Outdoor bar, sectionals, fire pit and lounge seating. Usually cocktails, and usually the place a second small system earns its keep so conversation is not competing with the main room.

Four ceremony sites

The Flower Garden, The Peninsula, The Woodlands and The Lawn. Each is a different distance from power and a different acoustic environment, and none of them is solved by the same setup. We use battery systems where a cable run would be ugly or unsafe, and we scout which one you have chosen before quoting rather than after.

What we bring

  • DJ and MC, with the set built around the 10pm cut-off
  • Ceremony audio sized to whichever of the four sites you have booked
  • A separate cocktail system for the covered patio when the timeline calls for it
  • Uplighting inside Hydrangea Hall and on the patio
  • Dance floor lighting programmed to the set rather than left cycling
  • Cold sparks, monograms and photobooths from our enhancements list, subject to venue approval

Questions we get about Splendor Pond Flower Farm

Is the 10pm music cut-off negotiable?

That is the venue’s call, not ours, and our experience is that it is firm. What we can do is build the night so the last dance and the exit land before it rather than getting chopped off. Planned properly, a 10pm finish does not feel early.

The venue has a house sound system. Do we still need a DJ rig?

The house system is there and it is fine for background. A wedding needs more than background: ceremony audio at a site that may be hundreds of feet from the hall, a cocktail zone, a dance floor and microphones for toasts. We bring what the night actually needs and we will not sell you more than that.

Which ceremony site is easiest to run audio in?

They all work. The Woodlands and The Peninsula are the ones furthest from power, so those are battery jobs. Tell us which you have chosen and we will design for that one specifically.

Will our music be too loud for the neighbours?

Not if it is set up properly. The trick is placement and coverage rather than output — speakers closer to guests and aimed at them, not a single loud system throwing sound across open ground. We have never had an issue here doing it that way.

Do you charge travel to Mooresville?

Sometimes. Splendor Pond is outside the Triad, so a travel line may apply depending on crew size. If it does, it is on the quote upfront rather than turning up on the invoice.

Can we do cold sparks or fog here?

Ask early. Effects are always subject to venue approval, and an outdoor farm property has its own considerations. We will raise it with the venue rather than turning up with something that gets refused.
