Market week is its own animal

High Point Market turns the whole city into a venue twice a year, and producing an event during it has almost nothing in common with producing one in a hotel ballroom.

Showroom spaces were built to display furniture, not to hold a party. Power is limited and often already committed to display lighting. Load-in windows are narrow and shared with every other exhibitor on the block. Streets are closed, parking is gone, and the freight elevator has a queue. The schedule is the hard part, not the gear.

  • We scout the space and the load-in path before quoting, not on the day
  • Compact, discreet rigs that look intentional in a designed showroom rather than like rental equipment parked in the corner
  • Battery and quiet-generator options where a space cannot give us the circuits
  • Crews who can build fast in a short window and strike just as fast
  • DJ, live musicians, lighting and screens from one company, so you are coordinating one vendor during the busiest week of the year

If you are planning a Market event, the single most useful thing you can do is bring us in before the space is finalised. We can usually tell you in one conversation whether the room will do what you want it to do.

Corporate and campus work

Outside Market, High Point runs on the university, the furniture industry and the corporate community around them. Clients we have worked with include High Point University, High Point Furniture and Ashley Furniture HomeStore.

That work is mostly general sessions, awards nights, donor events and brand activations. Screens or an LED video wall, proper audio, stage and drape, and a technician who stays for the whole show rather than dropping gear off.

Weddings in High Point

High Point weddings tend to be either country club and hotel receptions or smaller venues where the room has to be transformed to feel like an event. Both are things we do well, and the second one is where lighting earns its keep.

DJ and MC, ceremony audio, uplighting, dance floor lighting, drape, monogram, photobooth, cold sparks. Packages start at $1,800 with most couples between $2,500 and $3,500. The weddings page has the full breakdown, and enhancements covers the add-ons.

The spaces here, and what each one needs

Showrooms during Market

Designed to display furniture under carefully set display lighting, not to hold 200 people with a DJ in the corner. The constraints are power first, load-in window second, and sightlines third. We keep the rig compact and visually quiet so it reads as part of the space, and we bring our own distribution because the circuits are usually already spoken for.

Campus venues

Auditoriums, arenas and conference space attached to the university. Rigging, power and access rules vary building to building, and they are not negotiable on the day. We check them before designing anything.

Country clubs and hotel ballrooms

Where most High Point weddings and corporate dinners land. Predictable rooms, usually rigging-friendly, and they respond enormously well to lighting because the base condition is beige.

Furniture industry facilities

Warehouses, factory floors and design centres used for brand events and dealer meetings. Big volumes, hard surfaces, industrial power that may or may not be where you need it. These need a site walk more than any other space type we work in.

How close we actually are

Our warehouse is on West Wendover Avenue in Greensboro, roughly twenty minutes from downtown High Point. That is close enough that we can make a second trip if something changes, which matters more during Market than at any other event we do.

Questions we get about events in High Point

Can you produce an event in a High Point Market showroom?

Yes, and we plan them differently from ballroom events. The constraints are power, load-in windows and street access rather than gear. Bring us in before the space is locked and we will tell you what the room can realistically support.

How far in advance should we book for Market?

As early as you can. Market weeks concentrate demand for every AV company in the region into a handful of days, and our calendar for those weeks fills long before the rest of the season.

What if the showroom does not have enough power?

Common, and solvable. We carry distribution on every job, and where a space cannot give us circuits we can bring quiet generators or, for smaller and noise-sensitive setups, solar and battery solutions.

Do you charge travel to High Point?

No. It is about twenty minutes from our warehouse, well inside our no-travel-fee area.

Can you do something small and tasteful rather than a full production?

Yes. A lot of Market and showroom work is exactly that: good sound, a bit of light, and nothing that looks like equipment. We would rather right-size it than sell you a rig the room does not need.

Do you work with High Point University?

High Point University is among the clients we have worked with. For campus events, tell us early which building you are in, because campus venues usually come with their own rules about rigging, power and access.

Can you produce an event on a factory floor or in a warehouse?

Yes, and those are some of the most interesting rooms we work in. They need a site walk, because the answer to almost every question depends on where the power is and what the ceiling will carry.

Do you work with a venue’s in-house AV?

Yes, and sometimes that is the right call. When a venue’s system genuinely does the job we will use it and say so. When it is a paging system being sold as a PA, we will tell you that too.

Planning something in High Point?

Market week, a campus event or a wedding. Send the space, the date and the headcount and we will come back with a real proposal.
