This is where we are from

Fusion Sound and Lighting has been based in Greensboro since 2018. The warehouse is here, the shop is here, the crew lives here, and every piece of equipment we put in a room is ours rather than sub-rented from someone else the week of your event.

That matters more than it sounds. It means no travel line on your quote. It means we can load in the day before when a venue allows it, and come back the morning after to strike instead of tearing down at 1am while your family is trying to say goodbye. It means that when something fails at 7pm on a Saturday, the replacement is fifteen minutes away rather than a phone call to a rental house that closed at five.

As of 26 September 2026 our booking system shows 226 completed events in Greensboro and 36 more already on the books. Company-wide we have produced 8,174 events since 2018. Our Google rating is 4.9 across 171 reviews, and we are in The Knot Hall of Fame.

Rick Weber owns the company and still works events. There are six DJs on the roster today and we are hiring toward eight, because the Saturday calendar in this city keeps filling up earlier every year.

Weddings in Greensboro

Most of what we do here is weddings. Greensboro gives you an unusually wide choice of room types for a city this size, and each one is a different audio problem and a different lighting opportunity. We quote them differently rather than pushing one package into all of them.

What a Greensboro wedding with us usually includes:

  • A DJ and MC who runs the timeline rather than reading it off a sheet
  • Ceremony audio designed for wherever the ceremony actually is, which is usually outside and nowhere near power
  • Uplighting, dance floor lighting and drape sized to the real room, not to a package name
  • Cold sparks, custom monograms, photo booths and the rest of our enhancements
  • Live saxophone, violin, percussion or drums layered over the DJ set through DJ Fusion

Pricing is the same here as everywhere we work: packages start at $1,800, most couples land between $2,500 and $3,500, and everything is quoted in plain line items so you can see what you are paying for and take things out. Full detail is on the weddings page.

Greensboro venues we know room by room

We have built a page for each of the venues we work most often, with the real constraints of the building rather than marketing copy. In and around Greensboro:

We are also regulars at Greensboro Country Club, Starmount Forest Country Club, The Colonnade at Revolution Mill, Cadillac Service Garage, Hodgin Valley Farm, High Caliber Stables, the Embassy Suites at the airport and the Meridian Convention Center. The full venue list is here, and if yours is not on it, we have almost certainly still worked it – ask.

If you have not picked a venue yet, we are a useful second opinion. We are not paid by any of them, and we have seen what each room does at 10pm with 150 people on the floor.

The rooms here, and what each one needs

Farm and barn venues

Guilford County has a lot of them, out toward Summerfield, Stokesdale, Pleasant Garden and Oak Ridge. They photograph beautifully and they are acoustically raw: hard floors, open timber, nothing anywhere to absorb sound. Speech is the first thing to fall apart in a room like that, so we design for coverage rather than volume. The ceremony is almost always outdoors and a long way from an outlet, which is what battery-powered ceremony audio is for. And these venues go very dark very fast, which is the point at which uplighting stops being decorative and becomes the reason anyone can see the room in photographs.

Country clubs and hotel ballrooms

The most predictable rooms in the city and the easiest to under-light. A ballroom under its own chandeliers looks like a ballroom in every single photograph. The same room with the house lights down, colour on the walls and a proper dance floor rig looks like your event. Ceilings here are usually rigging-friendly, which keeps the cost of a good-looking rig down.

Revolution Mill, downtown and the converted industrial spaces

Brick, timber, concrete and glass, with enough height that the reflections come back late. The fix is coverage rather than output: arrays with narrow vertical dispersion aimed at people instead of walls, fills for the seats off-axis, and an engineer riding the mix rather than a laptop left running. These rooms also take light better than anywhere else in the city, because there is so much texture to put it on.

Campus, medical and institutional venues

UNCG, NC A&T, Guilford College, Cone Health and the hospital systems all have auditoriums, atria and conference space, and each building sets its own rules on rigging, power, amplified sound and how late you can run. Those rules are not negotiable on load-in day, so we ask the building rather than guessing. Tell us the venue early and we will find out exactly what applies.

Warehouses, garages and non-traditional spaces

Cadillac Service Garage and rooms like it are some of the most interesting we work in, and they behave like film sets: bring everything, assume nothing. Power, rigging points and acoustics all get checked in person before we promise anything.

Corporate events, galas and conferences

Greensboro’s corporate calendar leans toward healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, logistics and nonprofits, which means general sessions, annual meetings, donor galas, awards nights and holiday parties rather than product launches.

What that work usually needs: a general session that starts on time and is intelligible in the back row, presenters miked properly instead of passing a handheld, a screen or an LED video wall sized to the room, and lighting that makes people read well on camera. See conference and general session production for how we run it, or corporate events for the full picture.

We carry general liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance, and we can issue a certificate of insurance naming your venue as additional insured. Most Greensboro hotels, campus buildings and hospital facilities will ask for one; send us the venue’s requirements and we will handle it directly with them.

Entry-level single-day corporate production starts around $4,000. A typical 100 to 500 person single-day event runs up to about $50,000 depending on rooms, screens, lighting and video. Our largest builds have run $80,000 to $100,000.

School dances, proms and community events

Guilford County Schools and the private schools around the city are a standing part of our fall and spring calendar. Gyms and cafeterias are the hardest rooms we work in – hard floor, hard walls, a ceiling that sends everything back late – so we tune the system to that specific room instead of dropping in the rig we would use in a ballroom. Clean edits, a do-not-play list we actually honour, and enough lighting to make a gym stop looking like a gym. More on the school dances page.

We also rent gear to people running their own events in the city. Speakers, microphones, uplighting, screens, projectors and drape, with delivery inside Greensboro. See rentals.

Questions we get about events in Greensboro

Do you charge a travel fee in Greensboro?

No. Greensboro is our home city and our warehouse is here. There is no travel line on a Greensboro quote.

How many Greensboro events have you actually done?

226 completed in Greensboro as of 26 September 2026, with 36 more already booked, according to our own booking system. Company-wide we have produced 8,174 events since 2018.

Can you load in the day before?

In Greensboro more often than anywhere else, because a day-before load-in costs us a short drive rather than a crew day. Whether it happens depends on the venue’s schedule and whether anything is booked in the room the night before, and we will ask them directly.

Do you have insurance and can you send a certificate?

Yes. We carry general liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation, and we issue certificates of insurance naming the venue as additional insured. Send us the venue’s requirements and we will deal with them directly.

How many DJs do you have?

Six on the roster today, and we are hiring toward eight. Saturdays in peak season go early, so the sooner you tell us your date the more likely you are to get your first choice of DJ.

Can you do two Greensboro events on the same day?

Routinely. We run multiple crews and we own our inventory rather than sub-renting, which is what makes a double-booked Saturday possible at all. Tell us the date early and we will tell you honestly if it is tight.

Do you only do weddings?

No. Weddings are the largest share of our Greensboro work, but we also produce corporate general sessions, galas, school dances and private parties, and we rent equipment to people running their own events.

What if my venue is not on your list?

Ask. The venue pages cover the rooms we work most often, but they are a fraction of the buildings we have been in around Greensboro. If we have not worked yours, we will go and look at it before quoting.
