North Carolina’s biggest corporate market, and the one where the venue rules are strictest. We bring the full production, we own the gear, and we are used to working alongside house riggers.

Charlotte events are bigger, and the buildings have opinions

Charlotte runs the largest corporate calendar in the state: banking and financial services, healthcare, energy, motorsport and professional services, most of it in uptown hotels and convention space. The events are larger than the Triad average and the venues are considerably more regulated.

Convention centres and large hotels usually require house riggers or union labour for anything overhead, charge for bringing in outside equipment, and run their own load-in scheduling. None of that is a problem, but it is a planning problem, and companies that treat it as an afterthought end up paying for it twice.

We handle the paperwork, the rigging plots and the coordination with the house on our end. Our crew is used to working alongside house riggers rather than competing with them.

What we bring to a Charlotte production

Clients we have worked with include Atrium Health and Advocate Health. For the full picture of how a multi-day event runs, see conference and general session production.

What it costs, honestly

Charlotte quotes tend to sit at the higher end of our range because the events are larger and the venues add cost.

  • Around $4,000 for entry-level single-day production: one screen, PA, a couple of wireless mics, basic lighting and a technician.
  • Up to roughly $50,000 for a typical single-day event of 100 to 500 people with a proper general session, multiple screens or an LED wall, full audio and lighting design.
  • $80,000 to $100,000 for our largest productions, including multi-day conferences with heavy video and multiple rooms running at once.

We quote in simple line items and we do not nickel and dime. A screen is one price including the switcher, the laptop and the cabling.

The rooms here, and what each one needs

Convention space

The largest rooms we work in and the most regulated. House or union labour for anything overhead, scheduled load-in windows, and fees for bringing in outside equipment. All workable, all worth pricing in at the quote stage rather than discovering later. Our crew coordinates with house riggers as a matter of routine.

Uptown hotel ballrooms

Where most Charlotte general sessions and galas land. Usually rigging-friendly, usually with a house AV provider whose rules you should know before you plan around them. Deep rooms need delays so the back tables hear the same show as the front.

Corporate campuses and headquarters

Auditoriums, atria and all-hands spaces inside company buildings. Security, badging and load-in access shape the schedule more than the gear does, and the building’s facilities team usually has firm views on power and rigging.

Warehouses, breweries and non-traditional venues

Popular for launches and activations, and they behave like film sets: bring everything, assume nothing. Power, rigging points and acoustics all need checking in person before anything is promised.

Weddings in Charlotte

We take Charlotte weddings, and we are straight with couples about the geography. Charlotte is about ninety minutes from our warehouse, which is right at the edge of where a travel line starts to apply. If one applies to your date it is on the quote upfront, not on the invoice afterwards.

What you get is the same thing our Triad couples get: a DJ and MC who runs the timeline, ceremony audio that reaches the back row, uplighting and dance floor lighting, and the whole enhancements list. Packages start at $1,800, most couples land between $2,500 and $3,500, and the weddings page has the detail.

Questions we get about events in Charlotte

Do you travel to Charlotte for corporate events?

Yes, regularly. Charlotte is about ninety minutes from our Greensboro warehouse and it is a normal part of our corporate calendar. Travel, when it applies, is quoted upfront.

Can you work with union labour or house riggers?

Yes, and in Charlotte convention space we usually have to. Our crew is used to coordinating with house riggers rather than competing with them, and we handle the paperwork and scheduling on our end.

Our venue charges to bring in outside AV. Is it still worth it?

Sometimes yes and sometimes no, and we will tell you which. When a venue’s house system is genuinely good for what you are doing, we will say so and use it, because that saves you money. When it is a paging system being sold as a PA for a two-hour general session, it is not.

Can you handle a 1,000-plus person general session?

Yes. Our largest builds have been in the $80,000 to $100,000 range for events of that size, with multiple video walls and a full lighting rig. Send us the room and the headcount and we will design to it.

How far in advance should we book?

Six to twelve months for a multi-day conference or anything over 300 people, mostly because that is when the venue and speaker lineup lock. We have turned full general sessions around in under a month when the gear was available.

Do you rent gear to Charlotte production companies?

To other production companies deploying with their own qualified crew, yes. To end clients, no. A wall or a rig with nobody to run it is how shows go wrong.

Do you do site visits in Charlotte before the event?

For anything substantial, yes. Ninety minutes each way is a cheap price for not discovering a problem on load-in day, and for non-traditional venues it is not optional.

Can you handle a multi-room, multi-day event?

Yes, and we price it as one job rather than a separate invoice per room. Gear that stays in the room does not get charged as a fresh rental each day, and the quote will show you that in the line items.
