Close, and not precious about it

Burlington is about thirty minutes east of our Greensboro warehouse. There is no travel fee, no minimum that rules out a normal-sized event, and no attitude about a job being too small to be worth doing well.

A lot of what we do in Alamance County is the bread and butter of this business: a school dance that has to be great because the next one depends on it, a wedding at a farm venue, a nonprofit gala where every dollar in the budget is spoken for. Those events get the same crew and the same gear as anything else on our calendar.

School dances and proms

Alamance-Burlington schools are a regular part of our fall and spring calendar, and school dances are a genuine specialty rather than filler between weddings.

  • True clean edits, every track, without being asked
  • Your do-not-play list honoured no matter how many students request otherwise
  • A DJ who works the mic to run the room rather than shout over it
  • Lighting that makes a gym stop looking like a gym
  • Purchase orders, W-9s and certificates of insurance handled without drama

Homecoming and prom land on the same handful of Saturdays for every school in the region, so book early if you want a specific DJ. Full detail on the school dances page.

Weddings in Alamance County

Farm and barn venues dominate here, and they share a set of problems: outdoor ceremonies a long way from power, hard surfaces that make speech hard to follow, and rooms that look plain until somebody lights them.

All three are solvable. Ceremony audio that reaches the back row, a system tuned for the room rather than dropped in, and uplighting that changes the space more than any other line item you can buy. Packages start at $1,800, most couples land between $2,500 and $3,500, and the weddings page spells out what is included.

The venues here, and what each one needs

Farm and barn venues

The dominant wedding venue type in Alamance County. Open timber, hard floors and an outdoor ceremony site a long way from the nearest outlet. Three things matter: a system designed for coverage rather than volume, a ceremony solution that does not involve a generator humming behind your vows, and enough light to make the room read after dark.

School gyms and cafeterias

The hardest rooms we work in, full stop. Hard floor, hard walls, a ceiling that sends everything back late. We tune the system for that specific room instead of dropping in the same rig we would use in a ballroom, which is the whole difference between loud and clear.

Community halls, arts venues and churches

Usually modest rooms with a fixed house system that was installed for speech and never intended to carry an event. We bring our own rather than fighting it, and we keep the footprint small because these rooms rarely have space to spare.

Country clubs and event centres

The most straightforward spaces in the county. Predictable power, reasonable ceilings and enough room to build properly, which means more of the budget goes into what guests actually see.

Community and nonprofit events

Galas, fundraisers, festivals and arts events. Alamance Arts is among the clients we have worked with. Nonprofit budgets are tight and we quote them honestly rather than starting high and discounting.

Sound for speeches and awards, a screen or projection for the video package, lighting for the room, and music that keeps the evening moving. See event production for the full scope.

Questions we get about events in Burlington and Alamance County

Do you charge travel to Burlington?

No. Burlington and the rest of Alamance County are about half an hour from our warehouse, comfortably inside our no-travel-fee area.

Is our event too small for you?

Almost certainly not. We run everything from a single DJ with a speaker and a couple of lights up to six-figure corporate builds, and we would rather scope something correctly than turn it away.

How early do we need to book a prom?

Earlier than feels necessary. Prom and homecoming concentrate into a few Saturdays, and the schools that book in spring for the following year get the DJ they asked for.

Can you handle a purchase order and provide a certificate of insurance?

Yes to both, plus a W-9 and invoicing on your terms. Schools and nonprofits ask for these constantly and none of it slows us down.

Our barn venue has almost no power. Is that a problem?

Not usually. We carry distribution on every job and can bring quiet generators when a site has nothing usable, or solar and battery for smaller and noise-sensitive setups like an outdoor ceremony.

Do you do outdoor ceremony audio?

Constantly, and it is the thing most worth paying for at a farm venue. Vows nobody can hear is the one part of the day you cannot fix afterwards.

Can you work in a church with its own sound system?

Yes. Sometimes the house system is fine for the ceremony and we only bring what it cannot do, and sometimes it is better to bring our own. We will look at it and tell you which, rather than defaulting to the option that bills more.

Do you provide the lighting for a prom held off campus?

Yes, and off-campus proms are usually easier to light than gyms because the room is not fighting you. Tell us the venue and we will design to it.
