LED Video Wall Rental in North Carolina

Ground-stacked and flown LED walls for corporate events, galas, conferences and weddings, with the rigging, processing, content and crew to run them.

LED walls, owned and operated in house

Fusion Sound and Lighting owns its LED video wall inventory, the truss and towers to fly it, the processing to drive it, and the graphics team to put something worth watching on it. Nothing is sub-rented from a third party, which means one crew, one point of accountability, and a price that does not have a middleman built into it.

We deploy LED walls across the Piedmont Triad, the Triangle and Charlotte, and we are the in-house AV company at Legacy Stables & Events in Winston-Salem and The Merrimon-Wynne House in Raleigh, where wall placement, rigging, power and acoustics are already worked out.

Wall configurations

Three standard builds cover most rooms. All of them use the same panels, so the picture quality is identical; the difference is size and how the wall is supported.

30-foot by 10-foot ground-stacked stage wall

The full backdrop. Built on the stage deck behind your presenters, it carries program content, sponsor loops, live camera feed and the awards reveal on one continuous surface. Ground-stacked means it is supported from the deck, so it does not depend on the venue having rigging points. This is the wall for general sessions, galas and launches where the stage is the focus of the room.

16-foot flown wall

Hung from our own truss and towers, so the floor underneath stays clear. A 16-foot wall is the main screen for mid-size general sessions and galas, or a pair of them can flank a stage so every seat in a wide room has a straight-on view. Our rigging spec for the 16-foot wall uses five rated hang points across the truss.

12-foot flown wall

The same panels and rigging at a size that fits breakout-scale rooms, side screens and venues with lower ceilings. Four rated hang points, and a footprint that leaves room for the rest of the stage design.

Hybrid and multi-screen layouts

For very wide rooms we pair an LED center wall with flown projection screens on the flanks and 85-inch displays on truss totems in the corners, so the content reaches the whole room without a single wall having to do all the work.

Not sure which one fits? Send the room dimensions and the ceiling height. Sizing the wall is part of the quote, not something you have to figure out first.

Panel specifications

  • Pixel pitch: P2.6 (2.6 mm between pixels). Sharp from the front row, not just the back. Text, charts and fine graphics read cleanly at normal event viewing distances.
  • Cabinet size: 500 mm x 500 mm, 192 x 192 pixels per cabinet, assembled in whole-cabinet increments so walls stay proportionate.
  • Brightness: 4,500 nits. Bright enough for a daylit ballroom, a tent, or outdoors in full sun, where a projector washes out.
  • Indoor/outdoor rated: IP65 front. The same panels work in a conference center or under an open sky.
  • Processing: NovaStar. One processor drives the entire wall from a single feed at front of house, with a redundant unit available for critical shows and dual-wall layouts.
  • Seamless. No bezels, no overlap, no keystone. The wall is one picture edge to edge.

In plain terms: the picture is bright, sharp and even, and it looks the same at 10 a.m. with the windows open as it does at 8 p.m. with the room dark.

LED wall or projection?

We run both, so this is not a sales pitch for one over the other. The honest version:

  • Choose LED when the room has ambient light you cannot control, when the screen is the centerpiece of the stage, when presenters will walk in front of it (no shadows, no throw distance to protect), or when you want video content to look like it does on a television rather than a washed-out beam.
  • Choose projection when the budget is tight, when the room is dark and the ceiling is high, when you need a very large image on a distant surface, or when the screen is supporting the program rather than starring in it.
  • Use both in wide rooms: LED at center, projection on the flanks. It is often the best-looking result per dollar.

If you tell us the room, we will tell you which one we would pick and why, including when the answer is the cheaper one.

Content built for the wall

An LED wall shows exactly what you feed it, at full brightness, to the whole room. Slides built for a laptop screen look like slides built for a laptop screen. So we do not just deliver the hardware.

  • Native-resolution templates. Once the wall size is set, you get a template at the wall’s exact pixel dimensions for your designers, or ours.
  • In-house graphics team. Animated logos, sponsor loops, countdowns, agenda and session screens, award graphics, name-and-title lower-thirds and full-screen motion backgrounds, built to your brand standards.
  • In-house video production. Existing videos re-mastered for the wall’s aspect ratio and resolution, or new video produced for the event.
  • Live camera (IMAG). PTZ and 4K cameras switched live to the wall so the back of a 600-seat room sees the speaker’s face.
  • Tested before doors. Every piece of content is loaded and played on the actual wall during setup, not discovered during the keynote.

Rigging, structure and safety

A flown LED wall is a heavy object suspended over people. We treat it that way.

  • Our own towers and truss. Flown walls hang from our own lifting towers and truss, so we do not depend on the venue having certified ceiling points. Rooms with no rigging infrastructure can still have a flown wall.
  • Rated hardware throughout. Round slings in a basket hitch over full truss sections, rated shackles with pins moused, and rated clamps. Five hang points on a 16-foot wall, four on a 12-foot wall.
  • Ground-stacked walls sit on stage decks with a footer bar and rear bracing, with a clear service path behind the wall for the crew.
  • Site walk first. Every flown wall gets a site walk before the proposal is final: floor loading, ceiling height, power, load-in path and where the towers land relative to the stage and the seating.
  • Power. We bring our own distribution and tell the venue exactly what we need in advance. Most configurations run on standard venue circuits; larger walls and outdoor sites are planned with the venue or a generator.

What a quote includes

We do not publish LED wall pricing, because no two rooms are the same. Power is different at every venue, and so is the load-in path and the approach to building and supporting the wall. There is a lot of gear involved, and how much of it a room needs is only clear once we know the room. What you will get is one proposal with simple line items that covers everything:

  • The LED panels and the structure to support them (ground-stack hardware or truss and towers)
  • Video processing, cabling and signal distribution from front of house
  • Power distribution for the wall
  • A video technician for the show, and the crew for load-in, build, test and strike
  • Delivery and travel, stated up front
  • Content review, and a native-resolution template for your designers

Nothing is added at the invoice that was not on the proposal. If you want a number quickly, send the date, the venue and the room, and we will turn it around.

Where we deploy

Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point and Burlington in the Triad; Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill in the Triangle; Charlotte; the rest of North Carolina; and corporate events up and down the East Coast, including Virginia and South Carolina. As the in-house AV company at Legacy Stables & Events and The Merrimon-Wynne House, wall placement at both venues is already mapped. Because the panels are IP65-rated, outdoor deployments are on the table too: tents, festivals, walks, and open-air stages.

Questions we get about LED video walls

How big an LED wall do we need?

A common guide is one foot of screen height for every six feet to the farthest seat when people need to read text. A 10-foot-tall wall covers viewers out to roughly 60 feet, which is most ballrooms. Send us the room dimensions and we will size it.

Can the LED wall be used outdoors?

Yes. The panels are IP65-rated on the front and run at 4,500 nits, so they hold up in full daylight and weather. Outdoor builds are planned with wind and ground conditions in mind.

Do we need to provide our own content?

No, but we love it when you have your own creative content. Our in-house graphics team can take it further, format it for the wall and add motion, or we can produce original content for your event from scratch. Either way, nothing goes on the wall untested.

What resolution should our content be?

Native resolution depends on the wall size, because it scales with the number of panels, but every wall we build can be scaled for 16:9 content. Build in 16:9 at 1920 x 1080 or higher and we scale it to the wall; once the configuration is set we can also give you exact pixel dimensions if you want to design to them.

Can you fly a wall at our venue if it has no rigging points?

Usually, yes. Flown walls hang from our own towers and truss, not from the ceiling. What we need is floor space for the tower bases, adequate ceiling height, and a site walk to confirm floor loading and power.

How long does setup take?

Building a wall takes several hours, and we plan for a few more hours of testing and troubleshooting after that. For that reason we prefer to load in the day before for video walls, and for most corporate events in general, so the show day starts with everything already working. When the venue or the schedule does not allow it, for example an evening event, we load in early on the day with ample time before doors.

Can you show a live camera feed on the wall?

Yes. We run PTZ and 4K cameras through a live switcher to the wall, alongside slides, video and graphics, so a large room sees the presenter up close.

Do you publish LED video wall pricing?

No. Power, load-in and the way a wall has to be built are different at every venue, so every wall is quoted for the specific room and program, as a single proposal with simple line items that includes the technician, crew, power and delivery. Send the date, venue and room and we will send a number.

Can we rent the LED wall without a technician?

For event clients, no. Because of the rigging, processing and power involved, every LED wall we deploy for an end client includes our technician and crew. For other production companies and technical teams, yes: we do rent the wall to production houses that deploy it with their own qualified labor. Get in touch and we will talk through it.

Are you insured, and can you send a certificate?

Yes. We carry general liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance, and we issue certificates of insurance naming your venue or client as additional insured, usually the same day you ask. Most hotels, convention centres, hospitals and campus buildings require one before load-in. Send us the venue’s requirements and we will deal with their risk department directly.
