Event Production in Greensboro, NC: Audio, Video, Lighting & LED Walls

OUR RELIABLE AND PROFESSIONAL DEPLOYMENT TEAM WILL MAKE YOUR EVENT SEAMLESS

Every event has a purpose, a theme, a goal, or reason and we want to help you bring that to reality. With an on staff engineering team we can take a vision and create something that captivates and amazes your guests!

What event production means at Fusion

Fusion Sound and Lighting is a Greensboro-based event production company. We design and run the audio, video, lighting, staging and show flow for corporate meetings, galas, conferences, fundraisers, product launches and holiday parties across North Carolina, and we do it with our own gear, our own crew and our own graphics and video teams. One company is accountable for how the room looks, sounds and runs.

We have been doing this since 2018, and DJing since 2012. We started as a DJ company, which turns out to matter more than you would think for a general session (more on that below). Today we are the in-house AV company at Legacy Stables & Events in Winston-Salem and The Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh, and we produce events in ballrooms, conference centers, warehouses, tents and outdoor spaces from Charlotte to the coast.

One thing we will say plainly: the gear is not the differentiator. Every serious AV company in the state can put a projector, a PA and a wash of uplighting in a ballroom. The difference is what you do with it.

Same gear as everyone else. Not the same show.

Most corporate AV is rented, set and left alone. Speakers on, screens on, lights on. It works, and it is forgettable.

We take the same equipment and build it into something people remember, three ways:

Lighting that moves with the program

Intelligent fixtures programmed to your run of show: a color shift when the CEO walks up, a chase across the room for the awards reveal, a slow fade to cool white for the keynote so the speaker is lit and the room is not. Lighting that responds to the moment instead of sitting at one look all night.

Graphics and video built in house

We have our own graphics team and our own video production team. That means custom lower-thirds, animated logos, sponsor loops, countdowns, agenda screens, award graphics and LED wall content built for your event and your brand, not pulled from a template. If you have a video to show, we master it for the screen it is actually going on. If you do not have one, we can make it.

Show flow from a DJ company

This is where the DJ roots show. A general session should never have dead air. Walk-up music for every speaker, a stinger when an award winner is announced, a music bed under the sponsor reel, sound effects timed to the reveal, and a clean transition every time the program changes gear. Someone is at the board the entire time, listening to the room and not just reading the cue sheet.

Put those three together and a standard ballroom setup starts to feel like a produced show. Same equipment list. Different result.

Calm under pressure, learned the hard way

We came up in the wedding world, where every event is someone’s once-in-a-lifetime day and there is no second take. Years of that make a crew very good at hitting cues exactly when they need to hit. Corporate events carry the same weight when a CEO walks on stage or a reveal has to land on the beat, and we bring that same focus to them. The difference is that after a few hundred weddings, a general session feels composed rather than stressful, and that calm is what keeps a program on time and on cue.

What we produce

Corporate and organizational events of every size, from a 40-person leadership retreat to a 1,200-seat gala. The most common:

  • General sessions and conferences: main-room audio and video, breakout rooms with their own wireless mics, confidence monitors, timers, and a video technician who knows when the next slide is coming.
  • Galas and fundraisers: layered lighting, an LED wall or projection for the program and the paddle raise, a clean podium mic for every speaker, and music that keeps the energy up between courses.
  • Annual meetings and leadership retreats: presentation-forward setups. Distributed audio so the back row hears what the front row hears, screens sized to the room, and simple, reliable video switching.
  • Product launches and brand activations: reveals, LED wall content, moving lights, haze and effects when the moment calls for it.
  • Holiday parties and awards nights: the room transformed with uplighting, custom award graphics, a dance floor that actually gets used, and a DJ who reads the crowd.
  • Onboarding days, town halls and internal events: quick setups, clear audio, and someone on site so nobody from your team is troubleshooting an HDMI cable.
  • Outdoor events, walks and festivals: weather-rated audio, outfill coverage for long sites, and generators and power distribution when the site needs them.

AV rental, corporate AV, or event production: which do you need?

The terms get used interchangeably, and they are not the same thing. It matters because you will get quoted very differently depending on which one you ask for.

  • AV rental is equipment. Speakers, a projector, a screen, some uplights, delivered and picked up. You run it. Right for a small internal meeting or a team that has done this before.
  • Corporate AV is equipment plus a technician. Someone sets it, runs the board and the switcher, and makes sure the mics work. Right for most annual meetings, trainings and presentations.
  • Event production is the whole room designed as one thing: audio, video, lighting, staging, content and show flow, planned against your agenda and run by a crew. Right for galas, conferences, launches and anything where how the event feels is part of the point.

We do all three. Most of what is on this page is the third one, because that is where the difference between AV companies actually shows. If you just need gear, our rentals page is the faster route.

Event production services

LED video walls

Ground-stacked walls up to 30 feet wide by 10 feet tall on stage, and 12-foot and 16-foot walls flown from our own truss and towers. P2.6 indoor/outdoor panels bright enough for a daylit ballroom or a tent, with in-house content design and a video technician on every deployment.

Projection and screens

Fast-fold and tripod screens, short-throw and long-throw projectors, and 85-inch displays on truss totems for corners, foyers and breakouts. We size the screen to the last row, not the first.

Corporate audio

Column-array and line-array PA, distributed and multi-zone audio for split rooms and overflow, wireless handhelds, lavaliers and headsets, podium microphones, playback, and a mixed feed for recording or streaming. Wireless frequencies are coordinated in advance so nothing drops out mid-sentence.

Lighting design

Stage wash so presenters are lit correctly in person and on camera, wireless LED uplighting around the room, intelligent moving fixtures, custom gobo and animated monograms, and programmed cues tied to the program.

Staging, rigging and drape

Stage decks and risers, acrylic and branded podiums, pipe and drape backdrops, twinkle drape, truss and towers, and the rated rigging hardware to fly screens, lights and LED walls safely.

Video capture and live streaming

Multi-camera capture with PTZ and 4K cameras, live switching, recording, and streaming to your platform for the people who could not be in the room.

DJ, MC and show flow

Go deeper on any part of the production

Every element below is something we own, crew and run ourselves. Click through for how we actually do it, what it costs and the questions clients ask most.

In-house at two of North Carolina’s best venues

We are the in-house AV company for Legacy Stables & Events in Winston-Salem and The Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh. We know those rooms inside and out: the ceiling heights, the rigging points, the power, the load-in doors, where the sun hits the windows at 5 p.m., the acoustics, and how to make a speaker sound good in them. If your event is at either venue, we are already there, and the planning is faster because nothing about the space is a surprise.

It also says something about how we work everywhere else. Venues do not put their name behind a vendor who scuffs the floors or runs late on strike.

How a production comes together

1. Tell us about the event

Date, venue, headcount, the agenda, and what you want the room to feel like. If you have a floor plan, send it. More than anything, we want to understand the message you are trying to land and the reason the event exists, because that is what the production is built around.

2. Site walk

For anything beyond a simple setup we walk the room: power, rigging, sightlines, load-in path, and where the screens go so nobody is watching the keynote through a chandelier.

3. A real proposal

You get a real proposal with simple line items, because we do not nickel and dime. A 12-foot screen is one price, and that price includes everything that makes the screen work: the switcher, the laptop, the cabling. A sound system is one price: mixer, speakers, playback and cabling. Technicians, labor and delivery are on the proposal from the start, and nothing shows up on the invoice that was not on the proposal.

4. Run of show

We build the cue sheet with you: every speaker, every video, every music cue, every lighting change. Your graphics go to our team for build and testing before the day.

5. Load-in, show, strike

Our crew sets and tests before your doors open, a technician runs the show, and we are out on schedule without leaving a trace.

Where we work

We are based at 3404 W. Wendover Ave in Greensboro and produce a lot of events close to home: the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Burlington), the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) and Charlotte. We also produce corporate events up and down the East Coast, with a growing amount of work in Virginia and South Carolina. Travel is on the proposal up front.

What to have ready before you call

You do not need a technical brief. These five things let us quote accurately on the first pass:

  • Date, venue and room name. If we have worked the room, we can skip the site walk.
  • Headcount and layout. Rounds, theater, classroom, or a mix. This sets the audio coverage and the screen size.
  • The agenda, even a rough one. How many speakers, whether there is a video, an awards segment, a dance portion, or a live stream.
  • What is on the screens. Slides only, a video, a live camera feed, sponsor logos, or all of it.
  • What you want the room to feel like. Corporate and clean, high energy, warm and elegant. This drives the lighting design more than anything else.

Do not have most of it yet? Send what you have. Half of our proposals start from a two-line email.

Questions we get about event production

Do you provide the crew, or just the equipment?

Both. Every production is quoted with the technicians to run it and the crew to set and strike it. If you only want equipment for an event you are running yourself, see our rentals page.

Can you work at our venue?

Yes. We produce at hotels, conference centers, event venues, warehouses, tents and outdoor sites across North Carolina and up and down the East Coast. For rooms we have not worked before, we do a site walk first so power, rigging and sightlines are settled before the proposal.

How far in advance should we book?

Larger productions, such as LED walls, multi-room audio or live streaming, are best booked six to eight weeks out. Simple setups can often be handled on shorter notice. Spring and November through December fill fastest.

Do you handle graphics and video content?

Yes. Our in-house graphics and video production teams build screen content, lower-thirds, sponsor loops, award graphics and LED wall content, and master your existing videos for the screens they will play on.

Can you live stream or record our event?

Yes. Multi-camera capture with PTZ and 4K cameras, live switching, recording, and streaming to the platform you already use.

What does event production cost?

A typical single-day event for 100 to 500 people with audio, screens and a technician runs anywhere from about $4,000 at the low end to around $50,000, depending on the room, the headcount, the number of screens and audio zones, and the hours. A large-scale single-day production, for example 1,200 people with multiple LED video walls, is usually in the $80,000 to $100,000 range. Multi-day events are priced roughly per day. Every event gets a proposal with simple line items and the technicians, labor and delivery included, so the number you approve is the number you pay.

Are you the same company that does weddings?

Yes. Our DJ roots go back to 2012, Fusion Sound and Lighting was founded in 2018, and we built the production side from there. Same company, same standard, same attention to how the room sounds, but with distinct divisions of crew who specialize in their own areas, wedding and corporate, with some overlap where it helps.

Do you work with event planners and venues?

Constantly. We are the in-house AV company at Legacy Stables & Events and The Merrimon-Wynne House, and we work alongside planners, caterers and venue teams as a normal part of every event.

Can you provide power and generators for outdoor events?

Yes. We bring power distribution and our own crew on every job. For sites without adequate venue power we provide quiet generators, and in some cases solar and battery power solutions, depending on what the event needs.

What size LED wall do you offer?

Ground-stacked walls up to 30 feet wide by 10 feet tall on stage, and 12-foot and 16-foot walls flown from our own truss and towers, using P2.6 indoor/outdoor panels. Details are on the LED video wall page.

Are you insured, and can you send a certificate?

Yes. We carry general liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance, and we issue certificates of insurance naming your venue or client as additional insured, usually the same day you ask. Most hotels, convention centres, hospitals and campus buildings require one before load-in. Send us the venue’s requirements and we will deal with their risk department directly.

Tell us about your event

Send the date, the venue and a rough agenda. We will come back with questions worth asking and a proposal that has the labor on it.
